Smoke Art Interpreted – Talenthouse Creative Invite
Smoke Photography is quite aleatoric. Many people will see completely different things in them, and I always find it very interesting to hear what others see. Even better, to see what others see in my smoke photography. So who better to show that, than fellow-artists? When Talenthouse announced they were opening up the site for some members to create their own creative invite, I jumped on the opportunity and contacted them with my idea to have artists show their interpretation or perception of my smoke art. The people at Talenthouse thought it was very interesting, and helped create the invite.
You can see the page with information here: Create artwork inspired by Stoffel De Roover and the submissions here. It was an absolutely wonderful experience, to see my smoke pictures ‘covered’ by other artists and show different aspects of the original works, or even possibilities I had previously not perceived. In order to make it easier, I have added a gallery to the website to show the artists’ work and my smoke photography side by side: Smoke Interpreted
I want to thank all participants and the people at Talenthouse for this wonderful experience! I hope to continue the project over time, and at some point create an exhibition with these works, or maybe a book. If you’re an artist, digital or traditional, and you feel inspired to create a work that shows your perception of one of my smoke pictures, get in touch with me!
